Young Da Nang filmmaker honoured with SEED Award 2025

Le Ngoc Duy, a young filmmaker from Da Nang, has just been named among top 100 artists worldwide to receive the SEED Award 2025 from the Netherlands’ Prince Claus Fund. Le Ngoc Duy is one of 100 artists worldwide to receive the SEED Award 2025 from the Prince Claus Fund (Netherlands). SEED Award is a prestigious international award honouring emerging talents, and encouraging artistic creations related to urgent social and political issues in each locality. The award supports artists in implementing community-based experimental art projects while creating opportunities for exchange and affirming their names in the international arena. In addition to the SEED Award, Duy has received production funding from the CJ Short Film Project, and has been selected for the Locarno Filmmakers Academy 2025. He has won the Artist-in-Residence position at the Kurzfilmtage Residency @ Villa Sträuli program in Winterthur, Switzerland. His works have been introduced at many international film festivals. In particular, his debut short film “At the End of the Bed a Call Arose” was selected to participate in the S-Express programme 2024 and screened at some film events such as the Kaohsiung Film Festival (Taiwan), ZINEBI International Festival of Documentary and Short Film (Bilbao, Spain), Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin (France), and the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (Indonesia). In addition to filmmaking, Duy is also interested in building a culture of critical cinema in Vietnam.
