Da Nang to host International Congress of Mathematical Physics in August 2027

The International Congress of Mathematical Physics (ICMP) 2027 is scheduled to be held at Da Nang’s Duy Tan University in early August 2027. Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Tran Anh Tuan spoke at the meeting. The event is expected to attract about 600 – 800 scientists from around the world, including distinguished laureates of the Fields Medal, Abel Prize, Nobel Prize in Physics, and the Dirac Medal. Recognized as the most prestigious scientific event in the field of mathematical physics in the world, ICMP is organized by the International Association of Mathematical Physics (IAMP) every three years. The congress will feature plenary and specialized sessions. Speaking at the meeting held in the city on Friday to discuss the preparatory works for ICMP 2027, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Anh Tuan thanked the Ministry of Education and Training for choosing Da Nang as the host city for ICMP 2027. He noted that Da Nang had a lot of experience in organizing international events, most recently the 25th International Mathematics Competition in Vietnam (VIMC 2025) held from August 14 – 19. Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc delivered his speech at the meeting. Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc said that this was the second time ICMP had been held in Asia, with the first being in Japan in 1978. He emphasized that the event will mark the largest international scientific event ever held in Vietnam in the field of Mathematics – Physics. According to Deputy Minister Phuc, hosting ICMP 2027 will contribute to implementing the city’s task of promoting international cooperation in mathematical research, application, and education.
