Da Nang signs cooperation agreement with Le Havre (France)

On October 6, at the Le Havre City Hall (France), Tran Nam Hung, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, and Édouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) establishing cooperative and friendly relations between the two cities. Da Nang delegation takes a commemorative photo with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Le Havre. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Da Nang Nguyen Duc Dung, Ambassador of Vietnam to France Dinh Toan Thang, and Deputy Mayor of Le Havre Caroline Leclercq. The MoU marks a new chapter in cooperation between Da Nang and Le Havre in various fields, including economic and social development, urban planning, seaport management, information technology, education and training, tourism, culture, and the arts. Amid the recent upgrade of Vietnam – France relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, this local-level cooperation carries special significance, promising practical, effective, and sustainable collaboration. During the meeting, Mayor Édouard Philippe emphasised Le Havre’s persistent efforts over the past two years since his visit to Da Nang to promote this partnership. Following the signing ceremony, the Da Nang delegation met with French businesses, investors in the maritime and logistics industries, and representatives of universities in Le Havre. Da Nang leaders expressed their wish to further connect with French partners to strengthen cooperation in industry, trade, innovation, start-ups, and financial-centre development.
