‘Da Nang, an Oriental charm’ show in Qatar

More than 150 invited guests from Qatar and international travel agencies attended a ‘Da Nang, an Oriental Charm’ show at the Katara Cultural Village in Qatar’s Doha City last Saturday. Co-organised by the Da Nang Department of Tourism and the Embassy of Viet Nam in Qatar, the event was part of a series of activities to advertise Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, to Qatari tourism businesses and citizens to mark the launch of non-stop flights between Doha and Da Nang beginning on 19 December. Through delightful dancing performances in a combination of melodious background music, artistes from the ‘Charming Da Nang’ programme told the audience exciting stories about Da Nang where is considered as a gateway to the UNESCO-recognised world heritage sites in the central region of Hue Citadel in Thua Thien Hue Province, and Hoi An and My Son Sanctuary in Quang Nam Province. Following the show, the city’s artistes will wear ‘ao dai’ (Vietnamese traditional long dress), hold national flags in their hands to participate in a friendship parade in Doha City, and attend a cultural exchange programme at Hamad International Airport in the evening of 18 December.
