As of 15 September, Da Nang has received 69 US-invested projects totalling more than 590 million US$. Such major US brands as Crown Cork & Seals, Key Tronic EMS, Coca-Cola, Universal Alloy (UAC), and Kimberly-Clark are operating well in the city.

Developed by the US-based Universal Alloy Corporation Asia Pte. LTD-UAC, the 170 million US$ Sunshine aerospace components factory, one of the largest FDI projects operating in the Da Nang Hi-tech Park, already exceeded the committed progress, and the first stage of the project went into operation in late March.

The recent arrival of many large US-invested projects to Da Nang has clearly demonstrated the fact US investors have seen Da Nang as one of the most attractive destinations in Viet Nam.

Also notably, the import-export turnover between Da Nang and the US has continued its upward trend in recent years.

The Da Nang Chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (AmCham Viet Nam) officially opened its doors at the 9th floor of the Indochina Riverside Towers at 74 Bach Dang in late June.

The opening of the Da Nang Chapter of AmCham Viet Nam aims to support US businesses operating in the city and attract new US-invested projects into the city.

Till date, Da Nang has always considered the USA as one of its key economic partners. The Da Nang government has prioritised attracting US investors to pour the money into tourism, culture, trade and other aspects.

Apart from effectively deploying investment projects in Da Nang, the US businesses have carried out numerous activities to help the city improve the environmental quality and enhance the living standards of local residents.

For instances, in late August, the Da Nang Chapter of AmCham Viet Nam donated 5 patient monitoring devices, totalling 550 million VND to the city in a bid to help health facilities across the city prompt good infection control of coronavirus.

Also, the Da Nang branch of the Coca-Cola Beverages Viet Nam Ltd and the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VNRC) Central Committee together donated nearly 900 million VND to support to the city’s frontliners in the fight against Covid-19.

Besides, over the past 5 years, the Coca-Cola’s EKOCENTER Community Support Centre in Da Nang has provided a secure supply of safe drinking water and solar power for remote mountainous areas across the city.
