SURF 2023 promises variety of exciting activities

At a press conference held in Da Nang on Tuesday, the municipal Department of Science and Technology remarked that the Da Nang Startup and Innovation Festival (SURF) 2023 is expected to help the startup network connect more closely and attract the attention of the community. This will contribute to spreading the spirit of innovative entrepreneurship, orienting development, expanding opportunities for connection and cooperation between elements in the ecosystem, and encouraging technology development and innovation activities. Photo: VAN HOANG Accordingly, SURF 2023, themed ‘Han River Desire – Unleashing Creativity, will be held on September 29 at the city-based Duy Tan University, aiming to convey the message ‘Da Nang – City of Innovation’. Within the framework of the event, many outstanding activities will be held in the city, including an innovation startup exhibition, using the city-developed virtual reality platform scheduled from August 20 – December 30 with about 100 participating booths; an innovation startup competition with the participation of 30 teams; and the launching of the Da Nang – Seoul Innovation Space. In addition, there will be online and offline scientific seminars with the themes of ‘Building Da Nang – City of innovation’, ‘Unlocking capital sources for innovative startups’ and ‘International integration of the local innovation startup ecosystem in the context of globalisation’ with the participation of many domestic and international speakers and experts. The event’s organisers will arrange an exhibition space for innovative startups with more than 80 booths of investment ideas in startups, as well as a number of side activities connecting product supply and demand.
