Support for intellectual property protection in Da Nang

In an effort to effectively implement Da Nang’s support programme on developing intellectual property in 2022 and the following years, the municipal Department of Science and Technology has recently asked local government agencies and units citywide to submit their proposals for scientific and technological content and tasks. The proposals should focus on completing dossiers for the protection of certification marks, collective marks and geographical indications at home and abroad, as well as improving the efficiency of management, exploitation and development of intellectual property. In addition, according to municipal People’s Council-issued Resolution No 62 dated December 17, 2021 on stipulating the level of support for registration of intellectual property protection until 2030 in the city, between VND15 million and VND60 million in funding will be given to each unit in the registration of intellectual property protection, depending on the case. The Department receives proposals regularly throughout the year. Currently, the Department is selecting organizations and individuals to chair three municipal-level science and technology tasks in 2021. Specifically, the tasks will include conducting research and manufacturing smart devices for selection of organic food in Da Nang; studying the current status and distribution of primate species in the Son Tra Peninsula in order to give general assessment of the ecological balance and propose appropriate management and conservation solutions; and conducting research on precancerous cervical status in women aged 30-60 and proposing some intervention solutions to prevent cervical cancer in Da Nang. Applications can be submitted to the municipal Department of Science and Technology on the 22nd floor of the Da Nang Administration Center, 24 Tran Phu, Hai Chau District from now until February 11.
