CPI in November grows 0.22%

The consumer price index (CPI) for November went up by 0.22% compared to the previous month and 3.14% to the same period last year, announced the Da Nang Statistics Office on December 3. The average CPI in the 11 months of 2024 increased by 3.02% compared to the same period in 2023.

Against October, eight among the 11 groups of essential goods and services experienced price increases, two saw price decreases, and one remained unchanged.

During the month, the highest CPI increase was recorded in the group of housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials at 0.55%, followed by the group of beverages and tobacco 0.48%, the group of other goods and services 0.33%, the group of food and catering services 0.23%, the group of culture, entertainment and tourism 0.22%, the group of household equipment and appliances 0.21%, the group of medicines and medical services 0.08%, and the group of clothing, hats and footwear 0.03%.

Meanwhile, the groups of transportation, and post and telecommunications recorded a decrease of 0.2% and 0.05% respectively. The group of education remained unchanged.

Factors contributing to November’s CPI rise included a hike in the prices of kerosene, diesel, gas, food, and rented houses.
