Under the campaign, Tra Tan will focus on building and repairing houses for 18 households that lost their homes entirely. Families living in areas with a high risk of landslides will be relocated to concentrated resettlement sites or integrated resettlement locations in safer areas.

A ceremony was held on December 20 in mountainous Tra Tan commune, Da Nang city, to launch the construction of houses for families affected by natural disasters under the “Quang Trung Campaign”, aiming to help flood-hit residents stabilise their lives ahead of the 2026 Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival.

According to Le Minh Chien, Chairman of the Tra Tan Commune People’s Committee, Tra Tan is a disadvantaged mountainous locality where nearly 80% of the population are ethnic minorities, while poor and near-poor households account for almost 50% of the total.

During the historic floods in late October and early November, the commune suffered heavy losses, with more than 60 landslide sites recorded, sweeping away thousands of cubic metres of soil and rocks. Particularly severe landslides occurred in Tra Giac and Thang Phuong hamlets, damaging 85 houses, including 18 homes that completely collapsed or were washed away, forcing many families to live in temporary shelters or with relatives for nearly two months.

Under the campaign, Tra Tan will focus on building and repairing houses for 18 households that lost their homes entirely. Families living in areas with a high risk of landslides will be relocated to concentrated resettlement sites or integrated resettlement locations in safer areas.

Each house will receive financial support of 200–250 million VND (8,100 USD – 10,200 USD), mobilised from the state budget, legal social contributions and counterpart funding from the beneficiary households. Site clearance and housing designs have been carefully prepared to ensure construction quality and suitability to local customs and living conditions.

To ensure construction progress, Da Nang city’s Military Command has deployed 65 officers and soldiers from Regiment 885 to coordinated with local militia forces. Other mass organisations, including public security officers and soldiers, members of youth, women’s and veterans’ associations, along with businesses, have also joined the effort.

Under the plan, all houses are expected to be completed and handed over to residents before January 31, 2026.

The launching of the campaign not only provides practical assistance to flood-affected households but also reflects the spirit of solidarity, community responsibility and the Party and State’s strong commitment to social welfare, helping residents in Tra Tan welcome the Lunar New Year Festival./.
