Australian Government provides over VND 3 billion in support for disaster-affected children in Da Nang

The Da Nang Red Cross Society, in coordination with the Australian Embassy in Vietnam and Save the Children International (SCI), organized a cash assistance distribution on Monday in Duy Nghia Commune for households with children affected by storms and floods in 2025. This activity is part of the project “Emergency Relief for Families with Children Affected by Storms and Floods in 2025 in Da Nang and Gia Lai Province”. The project is funded by the Australian Government through the Australian Humanitarian Partnership (AHP), with a total budget of VND 6 billion. Photo: HOANG LIEN In Da Nang alone, the project has implemented a VND 3 billion support package, focusing on 825 disadvantaged households in four communes: A Vuong, Vu Gia, Phuoc Tra and Duy Nghia. Each household receives a standard cash grant of VND 3 million, with an additional VND 1 million provided to families with children under two years old, pregnant women, or members with disabilities. Priority beneficiaries include poor and near-poor households, single-parent families raising young children, the elderly, and families with members suffering from long-term illness.
