Administration of Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine for 92,000 people rolled out in Da Nang

  Da Nang began to vaccinate its adult population against coronavirus at 9 vaccination centres from today, September 8 at the start of the biggest immunisation programme in history. Over 92,000 eligible people in Da Nang will get first shot of Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from September 8 -11 under the city’s historic vaccine rollout as part of the city’s overall strategy to successfully tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. The city has set a goal to offer a first dose of a COVID vaccine to all adults in Da Nang in September. In an attempt to speed up vaccinations, the health agency has set up 9 vaccination centres across the city. The administration of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine is carried out in fast and effective practices in line with the Ministry of Health’s guidance. Protocols have been established for the management of adverse reactions following immunization. Healthcare workers are prepared to recognize and treat allergic reactions. Vaccination appointments are scheduled for beneficiaries under different time frames. The seating arrangement of beneficiaries in waiting area of a vaccination site must ensure a safe distance from others. People working in transport, trading and other essential service activities are among the beneficiaries to receive the life-saving jab.
