Data publised by the Da Nang Department of Planning and Investment on Wednesday show that between January and August, the Da Nang authorities granted business registration certificates to 2,967 new domestic and foreign businesses, branches and representative offices, with a total registered charter capital of over 16,171 billion VND.
The figures represent a decline of 27.4% and 18% in the number of projects and in the total registered investment capital repressively against the same period last year.
Besides, during the 8-month period, 535 businesses were dissolved, whilst 1,628 had their business activities temporarily suspended. Meanwhile, 871 businesses resumed operations.
Currently, there are a total of 32,067 businesses, branches and representative offices operating in the city, with a total registered capital of 219,494 billion VND.
The average registered capital of each firm was 5.45 billion VND.
The newly-established firms mainly got involved in such aspects as electricity, water and gas production and distribution; healthcare and social welfare services. Meanwhile, dissolved or suspended ones majorly involved real estate, accommodation and eating and drinking services, and arts and entertainment activities.
