Businesses in Da Nang take action to mitigate the effects of COVID-19

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, apart from strictly following the guidance on infection prevention and control from the national and municipal governments and health bodies, businesses in Da Nang have also taken all necessary measures to create a safe and healthy workplace for their workers and clients in order to ensure their survival and growth during the pandemic. Photo: T.V Reasonable steps taken to create a COVID safe workplace Nguyen Duc Tri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Corporation, said that appropriate measures are being put in place at all production facilities, office space, and canteen area across the company’s plants throughout the country in a bid to minimise the risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19 in the workplace. Therefore, the company has made its work COVID-secure for nearly 12,000 employees nationwide with effective prevention measures to help it survive and thrive during the pandemic. Similarly, The March 29 Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company has also synchronously implemented COVID-19 control measures to keep their workers safe and ensure stable production. In addition, inspection teams have been established with the purpose of making sure that each individual among more than 3,700 employees at the company is following best practices to protect themselves and others. The most recent inspection results for businesses operating across the city released by the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs along with the Trade Union of the Hi-Tech Parks and Industrial Parks in Da Nang show that all of companies based in the city are sticking to the guidelines from the national and municipal governments, especially the 5K recommendations of the Vietnamese Health Ministry, namely khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering), and khai bao y te (health declaration) to prevent the spread of the virus. Photo: T.V Helping employees feel safe and secure at work According to the municipal Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, all 215 businesses operating in industrial parks across the city have already signed their commitments to strictly follow recommended measures to control COVID-19 in a bid to provide a COVID safe workplace for their employees. In particular, 92.28% of the workers in local industrial parks have got tested for the virus, and tests on them have come back negative.
