Call for Chinese investors to explore opportunities in Da Nang

On the afternoon of December 17, Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee and Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, hosted a meeting with Dong Biyou, Chinese Consul General in Da Nang City, during her working visit to the city. A commemorative gift from Pham Duc An (R) to Dong Biyou Chairman Pham Duc An expressed his hope that during her term, Dong Biyou would continue to act as a bridge to encourage major airlines to restore and open new direct routes linking Chinese localities with Da Nang. He also called on the Consulate General to help introduce Chinese investors to business opportunities in the city, particularly as Da Nang advances plans for an International Financial Centre and a Free Trade Zone. In addition, he sought support in promoting deeper exchanges and cooperation between universities in Da Nang and Chinese partners to enhance the quality of academic collaboration. Chinese Consul General in Da Nang Dong Biyou said she was impressed by Da Nang’s dynamic development and pledged close coordination in implementing existing bilateral agreements. She also expressed hope that the city would continue creating favourable conditions for Chinese enterprises to invest in key sectors such as finance, infrastructure, smart cities, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and mechanical engineering. Da Nang currently maintains official friendship ties with five Chinese localities, with exchanges intensifying since a cooperation agreement with Yunnan Province was signed in April 2025. The city has attracted 144 Chinese-invested projects worth a total of USD 820 million, mainly in processing and manufacturing.
