Da Nang, Gangwon sign cooperation document in tourism

During the meeting, Vice Chairman Son thanked the leaders of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province for their respectful welcome. At the same time, he affirmed that the bilateral friendship and cooperative relations between Viet Nam and South Korea has been increasingly developing well and achieving many great achievements.

On that basis, recent years have witnessed fruitful results from cooperative programmes in many fields of trade, investment, tourism, education, and cultural and arts exchange between Da Nang and South Korean localities, parties and businesses.

Currently, there are four direct flights connecting Da Nang with South Korean localities of Incheon, Busan, Daegu, Cheongju and Muan.

Da Nang is one of three cities in Viet Nam piloting urban government organisation and Gangwon has just been given new status as a ‘special self-governing province’ by the South Korean government in mid-2023.

The two localities can exchange and share experience in the management and administration of government apparatus. They also share many similarities in geography, favourable natural landscapes and tourism advantages.

He said that Da Nang was always interested in expanding cooperation with Gangwon Province to facilitate cultural exchange, and economic and trade development cooperation in the coming time.

Representatives of the Gangwon Special Self-governing Provincial Council highly appreciated the working visit made by the Da Nang delegation. At the same time, they said that they will visit and work with Da Nang in the near future to promote cooperation in all fields consistent with the potential, strengths and similarities of the two sides.

Also on the same day, the Da Nang Department of Tourism and the Gangwon Provincial Department of Tourism entered into a cooperation document.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son affirmed that the signing of a cooperation document will open up more opportunities to promote exchange and strengthen cooperation between the two localities in the future.

It is known that Gangwon Province with its capital in Chuncheon has an area of 16,874 km

2

, population of more than 1.56 million people, and 7 cities and 11 counties. Gangwon Province boasts great potential for tourism development as it is home to world-class ski resorts.
