Tiếng ViệtWithin the framework of the program to celebrate the National Digital Transformation Day 2025 held in Ha Noi on Tuesday morning, Da Nang was honored by the Ministry of Science and Technology as “Outstanding City in Digital Transformation for the 2020 – 2024 period”.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of municipal People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu emphasized that this was a great honor and a source of pride for the city which always aspired to rise up with knowledge, creativity and technology.
According to Vice Chairman Buu, for Da Nang, digital transformation is not only a task, but also a comprehensive process of renewal in both mindset and action, aimed at putting “people and businesses as the center and as driving force for development”.
During the 2020 – 2025 period, Da Nang has synchronously deployed many solutions and achieved outstanding results. In particular, the city led the country in digital transformation in all three pillars: digital government, digital economy and digital society for 4 consecutive years (2021 – 2024). Also, it was the first locality to issue a specialized Resolution and Digital Transformation Project through 2025, with a vision to 2030.
To date, the proportion of online administrative services has hit 55%, three times the national average. 100% of administrative dossiers have been processed electronically. The city’s data center has met international Tier III standards, serving as the digital infrastructure platform of a smart city.
More than 3,000 enterprises across the city have received support in digital transformation. 52 high-tech projects have been invested in high-tech parks. Digital economy has accounted for more than 22% of the city’s GRDP.
Da Nang is the only city in Vietnam to have won the “Smart City Award” for 4 consecutive years. In 2023, it was awarded the Seoul Smart City Prize in the category of the Human Centricity in South Korea.
On behalf of the leaders of the city, Mr. Buu thanked the central government for its attention and guidance, as well as ministries, sectors, experts, technology enterprises and partner localities for their active support.
At the same time, he voiced his hope that the Government and central ministries will continue to assist Da Nang in successfully implementing its four key projects in the next 5 years, including Science and Technology Project, International Innovation Project, City-wide Digital Transformation Project and Regional Smart City Project.
