Promoting the opening of flight routes in new markets
The operation of direct charter flights connecting Da Nang with Astana, Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Tashkent (Uzbekistan) in 2025, with a total frequency of 16 flights per week, has significantly contributed to facilitating travel and boosting growth in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) market.
The ANEX Vietnam, the pioneer in launching charter flights from CIS countries to Da Nang, shared that in 2026, the company will promote the opening of the Russia – Da Nang charter services, expected to operate from April 1 to October 31, 2026.
These charter flights will connect 14 major cities, namely Almaty, Astana, Blagoveshchensk, Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Novokuznetsk, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, Samara and Minsk.
The flights will be operated by Azur Air and Vietjet Air, using wide-body aircraft. The expected frequency of operation is about 70 flights per month, carrying an average of 13,000 passengers monthly with stays of 10 nights or more.

Dual boost for Da Nang tourism
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association, highlighted that the expansion of international air route will not only bring more visitors to the city but also attract investors, international hotel management chains and high-end service brands.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, over the peak period from December 2025 to February 2026, the city is predicted to welcome an average of 140 – 142 flights per day, and witness a surge in visitor arrivals from South Korea, Japan, Singapore and the Philippines due to the growing demand for Christmas and New Year holidays. This is considered the “golden time” for Da Nang to roll out promotional activities and strengthen international market connections.
Therefore, Da Nang’s tourism industry aims to launch one to two new international air routes to Chu Lai Airport as well as maintain and expand the existing international route network.
Additionally, the city will promote links between domestic and international routes to increase the number of transit passengers, especially from Northeast Asian – a region experiencing strong growth in both flight frequency and travel demand.
“Based on aviation infrastructure and multi-channel promotion strategy, the city targets to become one of Southeast Asia’s leading destinations which are modern and imbued with identity” said Ms. Tham.
