Da Nang prioritized for major logistics hub development in Vietnam

Da Nang has been designated as one of Vietnam’s four priority logistics centers under the newly approved National Strategy for Logistics Development for 2025–2035, with a Vision to 2050, issued through Decision No. 2229/QD-TTg by the Government. Da Nang, together with the capital city of Ha Noi, the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City and the northern city of Hai Phong, will serve as major logistics hubs connected to international seaports and airports, forming a nationwide distribution network that enhances regional and global connectivity. Leveraging its strategic coastal location and role as a gateway to the Central and Central Highlands regions, Da Nang is expected to become a dynamic center for trade, transport, and supply chain services. The city’s development aligns with Vietnam’s broader goals of digital transformation, green transition, and regional integration. The national logistics strategy sets clear targets: by 2035, logistics services are expected to contribute 5–7% of GDP, rising to 7 – 9% by 2050. To achieve this, the government will review and streamline relevant regulations, promote administrative reforms, adopt electronic documentation, and establish national and international logistics standards, creating a transparent and competitive business environment. The strategy also identifies three logistics growth zones – the Red River Delta, Southeastern Region, and Central Vietnam – with Da Nang among the core growth poles.
