Da Nang sets up additional four COVID -19 checkpoints

The Da Nang government has decided to restructure the existing COVID-19 checkpoints and set up new ones at entry/exit points in a bid to enhance surveillance on people and vehicles entering the city to reduce the risk of re-introduction or importation of SARS-CoV-2 into the city. Photo: LE HUNG The government on May 29 issued a decision to set up 15 COVID-19 checkpoints at points of entry/exit across Da Nang. In reality, many passenger transport vehicles are seen dropping off passengers along National Highway 1A. In its efforts to increase checks on incomers and vehicles at this point, the Da Nang government has decided to restructure the existing the C5 checkpoint on National Highway 1A near the Hoa Phuoc Traffic Police Station, Hoa Vang district with 3 ones. One will be set up at Km 941 along National Highway 1A to check heavy goods vehicles while the remainder will be located at a section leading to Ba Xa wet market in Hoa Phuoc Commune and near the headquarters of the Hoa Phuoc Commune People’s Committee to check motorbikes, rudimentary vehicles, and passenger transport vehicles, personal cars respectively. In addition, four more checkpoints will be set up on the National Highway 1A, at the foot of the Hai Van Pass near the Hoa Hiep Traffic Police Station in Lien Chieu District, near Hai Van tunnel in Lien Chieu district, at Km4 on the Da Nang – Quang Ngai Expressway in Hoa Vang District. The Da Nang government has asked relevant units to deploy personnel to the new checkpoints to complete their assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
