Fund for tourism development established

The Da Nang authorities have approved to establish the Danang Tourism Promotion Fund (DTPF) with its initial charter capital of 1.6 billion VND. The DTPF will give financial aid to tourism businesses to help them operate effectively in order to ensure the sustainabe development of tourism business community Mr Nguyen Nhu Nam, the General Director of the Viet Nam Travel Mart Company, has been elected Head of the Fund. The Fund will operate on a non-profit basis in a transparent manner, and all donations from individuals and tourism businesses both at home and abroad are welcome. The Fund aims to help create a closer link with tourism businesses from both home and aboard, and launch domestic and international marketing campaigns. Also, the focus will be on assisting local tourism firms to operate effectively, raising public awareness of preserving a good tourism environment, and organising exciting events to increase tourist arrivals in the city, thereby boosting the development of the city’s tourism industry in the time to come. During the year, the Fund will give top priority to developing the Fund’s members, conducting surveys in the tastes of Hindus and Muslims arriving in the city, and implementing domestic and international marketing campaigns after the coronavirus pandemic ends.
