According to the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority (DHPIZA), the steady increase in capital reflects not only post-pandemic economic recovery but also the tangible results of ongoing improvements in infrastructure and administrative procedures.
In 2023, newly registered investment capital reached approximately US$260 million, marking a significant milestone following the COVID-19 disruption. This rebound provided a solid foundation for subsequent growth and helped restore investor confidence in Da Nang’s industrial ecosystem.
The upward momentum continued in 2024, when total new investment rose to about US$320 million, an increase of 23 percent year on year.
This growth demonstrated the city’s continued ability to attract large-scale projects, particularly in high-tech industries and advanced manufacturing, which are closely aligned with Da Nang’s long-term development strategy.
By 2025, newly registered investment capital climbed to an estimated US$405 million, representing a further 27 percent increase compared to 2024.
Over the three-year period, total investment rose by approximately 56 percent compared to 2023, a performance considered notable at a time when many localities were still struggling to secure new investment amid global economic uncertainties.
According to Vu Quang Hung, Head of DSEZA, the key highlight of this phase lies not only in the scale of capital inflows but also in the improving quality of projects.
A growing number of major technology groups have been exploring opportunities or expanding their investments in Da Nang, while several strategic infrastructure projects have been launched, helping to lay the groundwork for a new industrial development cycle.
The year 2025 marked a pivotal milestone, as Da Nang initiated the Hoa Ninh Industrial Park, the city’s first new industrial park in more than two decades. At the same time, construction began on Free Trade Zone Site No. 5, envisioned as Viet Nam’s first modern free trade zone model.
Toward the end of 2025, preparations to launch Free Trade Zone Site No. 2 further expanded Da Nang’s long-term potential in industrial development, trade, and logistics, reinforcing the city’s ambition to emerge as a regional economic hub.
