Sun PhuQuoc Airways launches first Da Nang – Phu Quoc air service

Sun PhuQuoc Airways officially took off with its first commercial flights to Phu Quoc on Saturday morning, marking the beginning of Vietnam’s first leisure airline. Sun PhuQuoc Airways planes. Photo courtesy of Sun PhuQuoc Airways Specifically, the airline’s inaugural flight departed from Noi Bai International Airport at 7:15am, carrying 220 passengers aboard an Airbus A321 to the Pearl Island Phu Quoc. This was followed by flights 9G1969 (08:50 – 09:50) from Ho Chi Minh City and 9G2969 (08:35 – 10:20) from Da Nang to Phu Quoc. All affirmed Sun Group’s strategic commitment to accompany the island’s development and help transform it into a world-class destination and an emerging aviation hub in the region. Among them, the Da Nang – Phu Quoc flight was a special celebratory service marking the airline’s official launch. This route is set to begin regular operations from March 2026. Meanwhile, the three domestic routes: Phu Quoc – Ha Noi, Phu Quoc – Ho Chi Minh City, and Ha Noi – Ho Chi Minh City are officially operated on a regular basis starting November 1, 2025. Photo courtesy of Sun PhuQuoc Airways Notably, passengers on the inaugural flights received boarding passes stamped with the words “1st Flight” and specially designed souvenir sets bearing Sun PhuQuoc Airways’ signature Sun symbol, a heartfelt gesture of appreciation from the airline to its very first travelers on this memorable milestone. Additionally, they were treated to a signature pastry by Eric Kayser, the renowned French bakery brand with nearly three decades of global heritage. On the occasion, Sun PhuQuoc Airways also introduced two bilingual publications: S.P.A Magazine and the S.P.A Visit Phu Quoc travel guide.
